I mean how moody can you get, right?!
This banger by London’s The xx is highly underrated on the scale of “Badass Opening Track to Your First Record.” We’re talking up there with Rage’s “Bombtrack”, Led Zep’s “Good Times, Bad Times”, or even Vanilla’s “Ice Ice Baby.”
But seriously folks, this song really provides a good introduction to the band—you hear the sparse, sometimes bleak, sometimes Joy Division or The Cure or Interpol, with a dusting of funk. Then they bust into “Chystalised.”
